Firefox 1.5 has been released and continues to push forward in the new “Browser Wars”.
The best new feature in my opinion is the “drag and drop reordering for browser tabs”. And the automated update feature isn’t bad either.

For those of you using Thunderbird and experiencing it opening multiple instances of itself, be sure to download the No New Window on Double Click 0.2.3 extension. I’ve installed it and tested it on Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 2 and it seems to work as advertised.
Netscape 8.0 is out. This probably won’t be much different than FireFox (it’s the same code), but give it a whirl if you’re after the “brand”.
Firefox 1.0.4 has been released. This is a critical security release. Check out the release notes for specifics.
As always, it’s suggested that you uninstall your current Firefox version before installing the new version. Your settings are stored outside of the Firefox directory by default, so you shouldn’t lose anything.

Nvu 1.0 preview release is now available.
“Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a “new view”) is a complete Web Authoring System that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web page editing.”
Nvu is similar to FrontPage and Dreamweaver, but is open source (free software) and runs on Windows, Mac & Linux. From my brief look I’d say there is some room for improvement (as with every software package) and this has some decent potential as a WYSIWYG editor.
Firefox 1.0.2 has been released. Check out the changelog for specifics.

UltraEdit has been my coding workhorse for the past four and a half years and this past week I upgraded to UltraEdit v11.00a.
I am quite impressed with the “Code Folding” feature. My only complaint is that it doesn’t quite work correctly when you have closed single HTML tags in your code. But I’m sure they’ll fix that.
If you’re a coder and don’t have UltraEdit, get it now.
